Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami is a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital located in Miami, Florida. Our hospital offers advanced specialty services including Behavior, Emergency and Critical Care/ ICU, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery/Orthopedics.
Our team values accountability, integrity, and teamwork, and is committed to delivering the highest standard of veterinary medical care.
We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving Miami-Dade County and the surrounding South Florida community.
TPHS Miami is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency/ICU TEAM!
About You

Your Experience & Skills
- Veterinary Technician licensure (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, NOT required!
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a specialty service is required
- Surgery and anesthesia experience highly preferred
- A degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Role Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
- Assist the Emergency and ICU teams to maximize productivity and maintain efficient patient flow
- Perform patient assessments, triage, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and treatment preparation
- Monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients, recognizing and communicating changes in patient status
- Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and treatments as directed by veterinarians and within Florida Veterinary Practice Act guidelines
- Operate and monitor medical equipment including infusion pumps, oxygen therapy devices, ECG monitors, and other critical care equipment
- Assist with emergency procedures, CPR, and stabilization efforts
- Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans, patient updates, medications, and Thrive Membership options
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records utilizing hospital practice management systems
- Obtain relevant patient histories and client information
- Use safe restraint techniques and uphold hospital safety protocols
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and ICU areas
- Mentor and support fellow team members while contributing to a positive hospital culture
