For over 120 years, the award-winning San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) has provided free learning, knowledge, communication, culture, and enjoyment to residents of San Antonio and Bexar County. It consistently receives high marks from local residents in the City of San Antonio Community Satisfaction and Budget Priorities Survey, achieving a 96% customer satisfaction rating in the 2024 survey. The Library system, comprised of a world-class Central Library, 28 branch libraries and a library portal at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, boasts a collection of over 2 million items including books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, vinyl records, streaming video, and more. All locations provide free indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi as well as access to public computers and other technology. Collections and programs reflect the diversity of the community and are responsive to changing needs and newcomers in this fast-growing city. SAPL has committed to age-level, culturally diverse, and technology driven services that meet the unique needs of the community.
