The College of Optometry is currently recruiting for tenure-track and non-tenure-track, full-time faculty positions, with the potential for administrative responsibilities based on qualifications. We seek individuals committed to outstanding teaching, scholarship, service, leadership, and clinical care.
Areas of Interest
Candidates with expertise in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:
Basic and Biomedical Sciences – including Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Physiology, Vision Science, Immunology, Body Systems, and Nutrition
Clinical and pre-clinical education in areas related to treatment and management of ocular disease, vision rehabilitation, and clinical procedures
Clinical Patient Care in adult primary care, ocular disease, pediatrics, geriatrics, vision therapy, low vision rehabilitation, and/or neuro-optometric rehabilitation
Academic or Clinical Administration – based on experience and interest
Faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and accomplishments. Salary and benefits are competitive (salary range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually with the possibility of additional administrative stipend).
Qualifications
A Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or international equivalent is required.
Additional credentials are strongly preferred, such as a PhD or other doctoral degree, a master’s degree, or LPSE certification.
Licensed, or ability to attain licensure, to practice optometry in the state of California.
