- Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Water Resources
Description
The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a focus in Water Resources to begin Fall 2026. We seek an individual with exceptional potential as a scholar and teacher. The position includes maintaining an active research agenda, teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels, advising Masters and PhD students, and participating in departmental service activities.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- A PhD degree in Geography, Environmental Studies, Geosciences, or a related field by the time of appointment.
- A demonstrated record of peer-reviewed scholarship.
- Demonstrated or potential ability to develop a strong research agenda.
- Demonstrated experience or capacity to teach courses including Water Resources, Applied Water Resources, and River Basin Management as well as other appropriate courses at undergraduate and graduate levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Research interests in applied water resources that uses advanced technology, field methods, and/or modeling approaches.
- A demonstrated record of securing external research funding in water resources.
- Demonstrated ability to advise graduate students.
- Demonstrated or potential ability to teach Water Policy or Water Resources Planning.
