Description
DESCRIPTION:Duties: Play a pivotal role in setting the roadmap, strategies and overseeing the public cloud resources, provisioning, and optimization. Possess knowledge of the technical aspects of the platform and provide operational leadership to the engineering and product team. Implement robust processes and operations dashboard to monitor the platform performance, user feedback and adherence to service level agreements (SLA), resiliency and key operational metrics in real-time. Develop strong partnership with controls, technology risk management, architecture and compliance to understand the firm's requirement and influence/contribute to the maturity of the firm's capabilities. Regularly provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors. Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes. Serve as subject matter expert in cloud technology. Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle. Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: conducting detailed analysis of new features in the AWS public cloud technology and identifying impacts to containers, storage, security and streaming services; designing and developing infrastructure components with advanced functionalities to enable environment management using Terraform, Infrastructure as a code, and Environment as code solutions; designing solution to protect infrastructure, user access, and maintenance access in the public cloud by leveraging AWS IAM, Secrets management, and Certificate management; building and delivering secured low cost storage solution in the public cloud technology leveraging AWS S3, EBS, and RDS; utilizing AWS container technology EKS with multi-availability Zones to deploy services with Auto scaling to handle viable workload; designing load balancing with ELB/ALB for high availability and to handle burst of transactions and workload; building and enabling streaming services leveraging AWS MSK with automated provisioning, managing, and scaling policies; designing and building Multi-region Disaster recovery solutions leveraging AWS native services to reduce system downtime; utilizing Istio Service mesh to enable deploying applications in complex blue/green architecture to reduce system degradation.
