Responsibilities
Position Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and manage company and department-specific internal and external communications plans while working directly with other team members to identify features from around the airline that support the company's vision, culture, and community involvement.
- Stay abreast of communications- and marketing-industry trends (and, ideally, out in front of them) to drive innovation in how PSA communicates and engages with target audiences.
- Support management, content development and publication of newsletters and postings to employee intranet site.
- Identifies compelling internal and external story angles and successfully pitches media (local, trade and top-tier) to earn coverage that favorably positions PSA.
- Develop clear and engaging ways to communicate with and educate PSA team members, with emphasis on storytelling.
- Draft letters, presentations and talking points for leaders as needed, adapting tone easily.
- Establish strong relationships with department leadership, internal customers, cross-network partners, and executives to proactively build and deliver strategic communications plans (internal and external) that yield desired business results.
- Work alongside the Director and Manager of Communications to support the executive team's communication strategy.
- Manage the Communications content calendar.
- Use data and analytics on internal and external messaging consumption and make recommendations and decisions regarding communications strategies and plans.
- Support the development and implementation of creative communication strategies and tactics to reach a diverse range of audiences across a variety of tactics.
- Report on engaging opportunities where team members get involved in the community.
- Drive management, content development and support publication of newsletters and postings to employee intranet site.
- Identify and develop stories from around the airline that support the company's vision, culture and brand and easily adapt tone for writing across both internal and external channels.
- Participate in corporate meetings to discuss communications strategies and develop talking points and internal messaging for executives and senior leaders.
- Support development of press releases and statements for media and nurture media relationships to drive awareness of PSA activities in the public relations community.
- Assists with media relations efforts.
- Serve as back-up to the Director and Manager of Communications for Crisis Communications events and initiatives.
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of experience in Communications or Journalism.
- Proven success building/delivering content strategy.
- Copyediting experience and knowledge of AP Style.
- Experience in developing and implementing project plans.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Multimedia storytelling experience in video, audio, photography and/or design.
- Social media planning and content development experience.
- Experience working with cross-functional groups and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Technical Communications, or equivalent.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Communications. =
Authorities: None.
