OSC EdgeThe Cyber Security Engineer will work closely with the development and compliance teams to ensure the security product line continues to deliver cutting-edge, mission-relevant functionality for DoD cybersecurity posture management. As the Cyber Security Engineer, this candidate will support the Security product line, which is an advanced DoD compliance and readiness management platform used to help military organizations maintain audit readiness and prepare for CORA and CCRI inspections. This role bridges technical cybersecurity expertise with mission readiness operations. In this role, the individual will support the DoD assessment environments with a deep knowledge of STIGs, ACAS scanning, and the Assess Only process, and a strong grasp of how CORA scoring is structured and applied.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on CORA and CCRI readiness, ensuring Optica Security aligns with DoD cyber inspection frameworks and scoring models
- Provides technical feedback to the product team based on real-world assessment experience to improve Optica's automation, reporting, and remediation features
- Supports DoD customer deployments of Optica Security, ensuring configuration compliance and integration with ACAS, STIG Viewer, and RMF documentation tools
- Performs ACAS scanning and troubleshooting, including validating findings and helping translate data into actionable compliance artifacts within the security product line
- Applies and validates DISA STIG benchmarks for RHEL and Windows systems in lab and field environments
- Participates in and advise on Assess Only processes and documentation to ensure the security product line is alignment with DoD accreditation workflows
- Authors, reviews, and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the security product line deployments and customer use cases following Army, Air Force, and Navy documentation standards
- Assists with training materials and workshops for DoD users to improve their CORA and CCRI readiness through the security product line
- Collaborates with OSCEdge engineering and compliance teams to enhance Optica's readiness scoring logic, dashboards, and automation
- Travel to worksite locations as required
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher)
- Possess a DoD 8570 Baseline Certification: Security+ CE or higher
- Hands-on experience supporting or participating in CORA or CCRI assessments.
- 5 or more years of experience in a DoD Cyber Security enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of CORA scoring methodology and audit readiness lifecycle
- Knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with DISA ACAS (Tenable.sc/Nessus) scanning and troubleshooting
- Proficiency applying DISA STIGs and benchmarks and interpreting findings
- Understanding of the Assess Only process and related DoD accreditation steps
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and compliant SOPs for DoD customers
- Must possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience.
- Possess Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience with OptICA, Optica Security, or ISAC (Internal Stigomatic Assessment Console)
- Experience with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DoDI 8510.01 frameworks
- Experience supporting Army, Air Force, or Navy cybersecurity compliance environments
- Prior hands-on experience in compliance automation, STIG scripting, or vulnerability data analysis
